Blonde balayage with soft waves against the cottage’s stone wall

Every color service starts with a conversation. Your colorist looks at your natural base, your history and the result you have in mind, then recommends the technique that gets you there with the healthiest hair possible — hand-painted balayage for soft, low-maintenance grow-out, foils for brighter, more defined highlights, or single-process color for full, even coverage.

Not sure what you need? Book a complimentary color consultation first. We also offer glosses between appointments to refresh tone and shine, and hairline touch-ups to stretch the time between full services.

Hair Color & Balayage FAQ

What is the difference between balayage and highlights?

Balayage is painted by hand for a soft, natural, sun-kissed blend that grows out gently. Foil highlights are placed in sections for brighter, more uniform lightness from root to end. Many guests choose a combination — your colorist will recommend what suits your hair.

How much does balayage cost at Red Cottage?

Balayage starts at $195, and balayage with a base color starts at $235 on our online booking menu. The final price depends on hair length, density and the result you want, so we always confirm it during your consultation.

How often should I refresh my color?

Single-process color is usually refreshed every 4–8 weeks, highlights every 8–12 weeks and balayage often every 3–4 months. A gloss in between keeps tone and shine fresh.
